Yes, it is true… I’m a single girl living in the city. What can I say? I love being single most of the time… My love for being single is the fact that I don’t have to answer to anyone and I am free to roam the city as I damn well please. In the past, I have had people try to tell me what I should be doing and what I shouldn’t do for myself. First and foremost, I was born, and raised to never have a man control you; that’s when you lose yourself as a person. I have always had an attitude that if it’s not my way it’s the highway. Let me not say always; I’ve developed that attitude over time….
So now I’ve decided that I will not settle for anything less than what I think I deserve.
Since I’ve turned 30, I have a whole new perspective on life. I have some of my ex’s now, trying to get back in my good graces. That’s fine for them. But, you’re my ex for a reason, and nothing will go forward with us ever again.
Now to the matter at hand, some people think being single is like having the plague. I don’t see it as such. I go out, I meet new people and I just love to have fun. I’ve done the whole dating websites and that right there is for the birds. It just seems like everyone on those sites just want to hook-up. Not what I’m looking for. I’ve also been speed dating which was ok but everyone was damn near drunk before we even started.
I’m just going to keep on searching for someone to call my own. For now I’m going to enjoy being my single self in the city.
If there are any single ladies reading this, I would love to hear your story. I also want to know what you enjoy doing solo. You can always reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Until next time…
