Over the last couple of months I have tried to cut down on the number of monthly beauty box subscriptions I receive; I’m pretty sure my husband would pack up his bags & the baby if I kept up my habits (#realtalk lol). So I decided that my hair box of choice would be CurlKit & here is my first review for their November Box.
Before I speak to you about the contents of the box let me give you some insight on the superb customer service that was provided to me throughout my entire experience of obtaining a CurlKit for review….
I reached out to CurlKit via Twitter asking if I could receive a kit for review for the blog; I received immediate response back explaining what the steps were for this request. I went ahead and sent in the formal e-mail request to address provided; I was contacted less than a week later by Heather Cummings, the founder, who agreed to my request. Heather was extremely pleasant & looked forward to my review. Any time I had a question regarding shipping or special codes she was more than willing to answer without any hesitation. CurlKit gets a A+ from me when it comes to their professionalism.
Without further ado, here is the review….
I was completely in shock with the packaging & the number of full-size products that were received! But before I could even get into the products I got lost in the CurlLife mini magazine…it had a great dedication to recently passed YouTube vlogger Dawnyele, finger detangling techniques, a spotlight on Rochelle the CEO Alikay Naturals Products, & great cold weather tips for your natural hair. I read each piece & was truly enlightened as well as inspired at the same damn time! LOL
Now for the product break down….

Oyin Handmade Juices & Berries, Amazing Botanicals Pumpkin Hair Pomade
I’ve been using the Oyin Handmade Juices & Berries like an addict! I love the scent & it is my daily hair refresher. I haven’t used the Amazing Botanicals Pumpkin Hair Pomade yet but it smells just like pumpkin pie but not over powering & you are liable to look for a slice when you get a whiff. I will be purchasing both products
Next up….
Both gels ROCK for me! Neither cause any type of build-up on my hair which is always a plus because I’ve had some run-ins with other gels that either left my hair feeling DRY or looking dirty which is no bueno. I haven’t tried the Alikay Naturals deep conditioner yet but when I do I will definitely tell you about it.
I’ve seen this product in Wal-Mart all the time but never picked it up; I will be giving this a try as well but one turn off already is that menthol smell
I’m always weary of menthol because if you get a drop in your eye you will be singing Alicia Keys “Girl on Fire!” You never know I may just do a giveaway with this product on my Instagram: thediaryofanaturalgal; are you following me? We’ll see…
Last but not least check out the mini mag & samples from (there was also a shower comb from Annie too):
I’ve received plenty of samples from Lustrasilk from natural hair meet & greet but I have never seen the 4 Naturals Afro Stretch Curl Cream. I will have to get back to you on this one.
That’s all folks! Catch me next week when I do a review of the December CurlKit which I just got today & it is FILLED with AWESOMENESS
