I don’t know if y’all know but I can get a little obsessed. My last post was about the As I Am Double Butter Cream. At that point and time I was pretty much over looking for another staple moisturizer for winter. I had all intentions of leaving well enough alone and ordering my Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream during the Cyber Sunday/Monday sale. The plan was simple; order my cream and some other random thing I didn’t need (look…it was a sale going on, gotta take advantage) and live my life. Guess who gets online and EVERYTHING I want is SOLD OUT *waits for sympathetic awwww* So now, I’m left with no moisturizer…wait…thats a lie. I found some Elasta QP Olive Oil and Mango Butter Moisturizer, which is pretty good. I bought the Roots of Nature Mango Oil & Cupuacu Butter: Butter Whip Coil Cream, which I purchased a week or so ago. I don’t like this so much for the winter, maybe for spring *shrugs*. After the whole Double Butter Cream fiasco, I bought African Pride Shea Butter Miracle: Moisture Intense Buttery Creme (what’s up with these long ass names) which I actually really like. However, I already had it in my heart that I was going to try something new so now I was on a mission.
So I’m sitting at my desk “working,” trying to recall products that I wanted to try to never did and Carol’s Daughter welcomes itself into my thoughts. My sister, who is also natural, lives by their products. The only thing I’ve ever tried from them was some of her Healthy Hair Butter. The product was nice but it had an earthy smell to it; which I wasn’t too fond of. So I’m on CD‘s site looking around and come across Marguerite’s Magic. I read some reviews, hit up YouTube to listen to what people were saying about it and I was ready buy *excited*!!! As I’m about to check out, I realize I’m getting a discount because of Cyber Monday (Cyber Monday is awesome); so I fluff my hair (because that’s what I do) and realize I HAVE TO WAIT ON THIS MOISTURIZER. *bangs head on desk*!!! By this time I feel like a total nutcase. I’ve spent a GOOD part of my day obsessing over a moisturizer; though one could say I am determined but whatever!!!! As the feeling of defeat starts to come over me, I remember Macy’s sells Carol’s Daughter products. There is one at the mall, which is between my job and my house….BOOM!!! Everything now is in slow motion because I’m not sure what I’m gonna do if they don’t have this product (again, I know I just bought stuff, don’t focus on that). I call Macy’s, ask the woman who answers the phone about the product and has her put one to the side for me….I WILL BE THERE!!!! Lemme tell y’all, I rushed to Macy’s as fast as a person who rides the bus could. THIS PRODUCT (because you know I had to look at it while walking out the store) IS LOOOOOVE!!!! It doesn’t really have a scent. Like…it smells like something but whatever it is it’s really faint. The consistency is like a thick paste which made me want to spend money on a cab to hurry home. Tonight’s regimen will consist of washing my hair with Eden Bodyworks Jojoba and Monoi conditioner (**I bought the peppermint hair milk Sunday but my hair smelled like toothpaste all day. It was moisturized I just can’t deal with such a strong smell** which I also will use as my leave in (BOOYAW!!!!). Kisha (y’all know Kisha…The Diary of a Natural Gal’s Kisha) suggested I use Canola and I’ll finish off with Marguerite’s Magic.

SHOUT TO KISHA!!!! Chile, that Canola oil is the truth. I put some in my lotion (because my skin is crazy dry during the winter) last night and didn’t wake up ashy and it also showed my hair MAD love!!! Now, the cream….M-A-G-I-C; like Disney “bippity boppity boo” magic. I really love my results. I clipped my own ends last night and today’s hair is just SASSY!!! Ms. Ma’am is stuntin on many many fros (be mad….HA)!! So, would I buy it again…EFF YESSS…and I can buy it locally which is super sweet. **YALL….MY HAIR THO…..smh….BEASTIN**

As you may notice, there is a little gap of time in this post. My coworker (who is also natural) let me borrow her Qhemet Biologics Amla and Heavy Cream since it still hadn’t been restocked online. I decided to do a comparison of that and the Marguerite’s Magic. Even though I love the heavy cream like crazy, I’m comparing the two is to be fair. I never used the heavy cream during the winter (I don’t care what the calendar says. I’ve been wearing a coat, ITS WINTER) and I wanted to know how it stood up to the weather. “STAND UP IN IT, LIKE A CHAMP UP IN IT!!!”- Jay Z. I would put Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream up against ANY MOISTURIZER. My hair stayed moisturized from Sunday night to Wednesday night….BEAST!!! Don’t get me wrong, Carol’s Daughter Marguerite’s Magic is a great product and I don’t have to order it online, but I only got one day of moisture out it. Ms. Ma’am responds really well to BOTH products but if I had to choose, I’m rockin with Qhemet Biologics. I tell you this though, Marguerite’s Magic will probably turn out to be my clutch player. I still haven’t been able to order the heavy cream (COME ON SON) so I’ve been using Marguerites Magic and today…..MY HAIR SHOWED OUT!!!! “never leave your side, until the day I die I’m gonna hold you down” #myotherstaple
