On my most recent trip to the thrift store I got these two great blazers at $3.99 each. I am a lover of DIY fashion projects and was inspired by the classic and very regal paisley print so I decided to add a few embellishments to jazz up these blazers. I cut these studded shoulder appliques off a New Years dress I wore a few years ago, and bought vintage style buttons from my local fabric store. Adding new buttons, patches and zippers to clothes you already have is a great way to update your wardrobe. Thrifting clothes for DIY projects is also a smart way to test your crafty-fashion skills without ruining expensive clothes or fabrics!
ITEMS USED: Stud appliques, scissors, black thread, buttons, straight pins(not pictured)
HOW TO: 1. Place appliques on shoulder and pin down with pins, hand sew the applique down on the edges.
2. Hand sew on new buttons
These updates were super easy and cheap. Are you fashion crafty and love to thrift? Read my previous post: Six Successful Thrifting Tips here . I would love to see your DIY projects and updates to your clothes! Email me your pics at firstname.lastname@example.org.
